C.C. 2: NFL Injuries (2nd Sem.)
In Matthew Jussim's aticle "Baltimore Ravens Injury Update: Terrell Suggs Plans To Play Through Torn Biceps, Ray Lewis May Return From Torn Triceps Soon" it tells about the injuries of a few members of the Baltimore Ravens. I am going to explain two things. 1) Why the return of Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs' is so remarkable and 2) what impact it had on the team.
Ray Lewis in the game against the Dallas Cowboys tore his triceps. This was feared to be a season-ening injury. Terrell Suggs partially tore his Achilles tendon during the offseason. This, also, was feared to be a season-ending injury. However, both went through special treatment and would not take no for an answer and came back in time to make it to the Super Bowl.
What makes Lewis' return even more spectacular is that this is his last season and he is basicly the leader of the Ravens team. His return gave them the motivation they needed to make it. Ray has won defensive player of the year twice. Also, if the Ravens win, it will be his second championship ring, and he will be considered one of the BEST defensive players of all time.
Ray Lewis is an insperation to his team and also to others. Ever since his retirement has been anounced he has been followed around documenting his every move and motivational and emotion packed speeches. His insperational return proves that people can come back from serious injuries and still be good.
All I got to say is that I can't wait to see how he plays at the Super Bowl. GO RAVENS!!!!
